Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs diagnostic radiological procedures.
Responsibilities
Performs and obtains high quality radiographs on all patients (i.e. In-Patients, Emergency Room Patients or Private Out Patients); recognizes the need for and utilizes lead sheeting where appropriate in accordance with departmental policies. As required, transports patients to and from X-Ray rooms. Assists the Radiologist with hard-to-move patients when requested. Utilizes all X-ray equipment permitted within the scope of their license and within the realm of their training. Patient care responsibilities are delivered with knowledge of patient growth and development and are appropriate to the ages of the patients served. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
Qualifications
Education:
Graduation from an AMA approved School of Radiology Technology; ARRT;
Current NYS license as a Registered Radiological Technologist or Registry eligible, must be obtained within 6 months from date of hire.
Current BCLS Certificate required (either American Red Cross or American Heart Association). New employees will be required to produce a current BCLS certificate within 6 months from date of hire.
Current ARRT Certificate is required (as per the terms of the Maimonides-1199 Agreement dated May 10, 2013).
Experience:
At least 950 hours of clinical experience / rotation.
Skills:
Good interpersonal skills.
Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.
Pay Range
