Job Description
Facility: Trenton Plants
General Description This position reports directly to the Controller and is accountable for performing budgeting, forecasting, analyzing the balance sheet, auditing, and other general accounting responsibilities as required.
Specific Duties
• Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation and/or review of all significant financial information provided to operations and corporate management
• Duties include involvement with monthly closing, forecast updates, and operating budget preparation
• Involved in special projects such as providing financial support for business cases and ad-hoc reporting related to operating expenses and margins
• Helps to maintain and assess the system of internal controls (e.g. outlier flagging, data validation and proactive checks, and reasonableness in variance analysis)
• Prepares account reconciliations actively investigates reconciling items and proposes resolution.
• Prepares accounting related reports.
• Assists with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities.
• Prepares and analyzes journal entries; proposes adjustments as necessary.
• Assists in the analysis and interpretation of accounting records for use by management, as required.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll as needed.
• Special monthly projects as needed.
• Follow all applicable environmental, health and safety rules and procedures and immediately report all dangerous situations, near-misses, and injuries.

Qualifications
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Knowledge Accounting Principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel.
• Attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
The employee frequently is required to sit; walk, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, for viewing a computer terminal distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception vision for driving and ability to adjust focus.

• Safety Glasses conforming to ANSI Z87.1 or higher
• Steel Toe Safety Shoes conforming to OSHA General Industry Standards 29 CFR 1910
