Insurance Senior Accountant

You'll apply both
GAAP and Statutory (SAP)
accounting principles to ensure accurate reporting, compliance, and analysis across a diverse portfolio of insurance operations. The position offers excellent visibility, career growth potential, and frequent interaction with senior management.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and analyze financial statements and journal entries for general ledger accounts. Ensure accurate recording of earned, assumed, and ceded premiums. Prepare
NAIC quarterly and annual filings
in compliance with statutory requirements. Produce
reinsurance settlement statements
and calculate quarterly
premium taxes
across multiple states. Conduct variance and ratio analysis; present findings to senior leadership. Reconcile bank accounts and intercompany loans to ensure data integrity. Prepare balance sheets, P&L statements, and management reports to summarize financial performance. Audit financial transactions, ensuring compliance with
GAAP, SAP , and internal policies. Identify and implement process improvements, including automation where possible. Assist with regulatory filings and tax reporting at the federal, state, and local levels.
