Job Description

POSITION GOALS • Maintenance/General will report directly to the Building Operations Manager and will perform a variety of semi-skilled manual tasks for maintenance, repair, and upgrade of facilities and equipment of Camden County College. • Maintenance/General will remain consistent with Camden County College's acknowledgement of the inherent value and dignity of all individuals by creating and nurturing a learning and working environment that affirms and leverages our community's traditions, heritages, perspectives, and experiences. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Maintain, troubleshoot and make operating repairs to all electrical equipment, appliances, lights, receptacles, windows, roofs, plumbing, furniture, toilets and any other items belonging to the College. • Repair and install locks, doors and windows. • Perform carpentry, masonry, painting, roofing and plumbing tasks below the journeyman level. • Repair, lubricate and complete preventative maintenance on all types of machinery, motors and other equipment. • Responsible for following a Preventative Maintenance Program for daily and seasonal maintenance, checklists, evaluation and inspection of equipment. • Care of equipment and work area: Properly care for and maintain all power and hand tools. Maintain in a neat and orderly fashion all tools, equipment and maintenance supplies. Keep an accurate list of all power and hand tools available. Keep work area neat, clean and orderly. Make sure that all job locations are left in the same condition as found.

• Observe any deficiencies in or around the buildings and report them to the Building Operations Manager or Manager of Physical Plant and Projects. • Provide preventive and predictive maintenance for equipment, motors, gauges, emergency generators, compressors, etc. on a regular basis. • Complete work requests for maintenance work, and keep a log of what's completed and not completed. • Respond to emergencies as necessary. • Be available for emergency overtime when required to complete emergency repairs or projects and snow plowing. • Submit annual budget recommendations for new and/or replacement equipment, tools, maintenance supplies and materials to Building Operations Manager. • Properly care for, maintain and keep inventory of all assigned power and hand tools. • All other duties as assigned. • Must be able to perform snow removal in and around the college buildings, roadways on various campuses. • Must be available by phone 24 hours a day and 7 days a week as essential personnel; capable of responding to calls and providing assistance within an hour. • Must be able to and willing to work the necessary hours to meet the demands of an ever-changing workload or completion of any assigned projects.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Minimum of five years of directly related commercial/industrial electrical, mechanical, carpentry, taping and spackling, locks, plumbing, flooring, flat roofing, and painting experience. • Good physical health, including ability to climb ladders and lift and carry 50 pounds. • High School diploma or equivalent. • Ability to read basic operating instructions and write reports. • Ability to read construction blue prints. • Valid driver's license.
