About Us
Looking to expand our freight brokerage and launching an asset-based fleet division. We’re seeking a Fleet Manager to lead this initiative from the ground up. The ideal candidate is hands-on, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role will manage all aspects of fleet operations, driver management, dispatching, and profitability, working closely with our Compliance and Safety teams to develop SOPs and ensure all state and federal regulations are met.
Key Responsibilities
Launch and manage day-to-day operations of company trucks (initially 3–10 units).
Recruit, train, and lead company drivers while maintaining strong driver relationships.
Oversee dispatching, load planning, and driver communication for maximum utilization.
Ensure full compliance with FMCSA, DOT, IFTA, IRP, UCR, and 2290 requirements.
Implement and manage Samsara (or Motive) ELD and telematics systems.
Supervise reefer operations including temperature monitoring, calibration, and maintenance.
Track fleet performance metrics and deliver weekly KPI reports to ownership.
Coordinate maintenance schedules and build partnerships with vendors.
Develop and enforce safety programs, maintaining all DQ files and logs.
Collaborate with the brokerage division to align freight opportunities with fleet capacity.
Manage operating costs, fuel programs, and driver payroll accuracy.
Demonstrate a hands-on, solution-driven approach with urgency and accountability.
Qualifications
3–5+ years of experience managing drivers and/or fleet operations.
In-depth knowledge of DOT/FMCSA compliance, ELD systems, and CSA requirements.
Experience with reefer operations strongly .
Proficient in TMS platforms, Samsara/Motive, and Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets.
Strong analytical skills with a track record of improving cost control and efficiency.
Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship management abilities.
Flexible schedule and ability to respond to operational needs in real time.
Energetic, driven personality with an “athlete” or problem-solver mindset.
