Senior Process Engineering Manager We are seeking a dynamic Senior Process Engineering Manager who will report directly to the Manager of Advanced Molding Technology. In this pivotal role, you will enhance our Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost metrics while advancing molded epoxy manufacturing processes. Your expertise will be instrumental in transforming our molding operations into world-class standards within a fast-paced and hands-on environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage a team of Process Engineers, organizing tasks and projects with detailed planning and timeline management. Conduct sustainment activities in Process Engineering, focusing on Quality problem-solving projects related to epoxy molding. Develop and implement sustainable processing methods while incorporating innovative mistake-proofing techniques. Oversee the advancement of processing techniques to align with our long-term growth and cost reduction objectives while also spearheading R&D initiatives for new equipment and processes. Enhance manufacturing processes by ensuring all engineering documentation meets technical accuracy and project deliveries. Support the improvement of data collection systems for better business intelligence and analytics. Create and maintain process controls across all operations, providing training for optimal use. Conduct process audits in collaboration with Quality and molding departments to ensure compliance and performance. Recruit, train, and mentor engineers and support staff, evaluating performance and maintaining departmental success metrics. Prepare reports, manage budgets, and recommend equipment installations while fostering collaborative relationships across departments. Leverage your deep understanding of thermoset polymers to assist in new product development and failure analysis. Mentor your team using methodical problem-solving approaches, including Design of Experiments and statistical analysis. Demonstrate effective project leadership, encompassing scope, schedule, cost, risk, and resource management. Establish and track key performance metrics to measure project success. Collaborate with the Molding technology lab and Molding Innovation Center to achieve world-class status at G&W Electric. Ideal Candidate Profile: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering with a specialization in Plastics/Polymer Processing or Materials; 5+ years in the relevant field and 2-5 years in a leadership role. Expertise in Design of Experiments (DOEs) and A/B testing methodologies. Experience with molding and characterizing two-component liquid thermoset plastics, with silicone molding experience preferred. Two+ years of experience with liquid gelation molding and dispensing systems. Knowledge of fluid dispensing systems, including centralized material delivery coordinated by distributed control systems. Strong understanding of polymer rheology and testing methods, including DSC, TGA, and DMA. Proficient in CAD, Pro-E, and simulation software for polymer flow analysis. Experienced in failure analysis with advanced techniques and proficient in data analysis. Ability to mentor and inspire a team while driving continuous improvement initiatives. Proven experience in integrating new product production and operational improvement projects. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Plastics/Polymer Processing or Materials along with 5+ years in Automated Pressure Gelation molding, plus leadership experience. Certifications in Six Sigma, Red X, or equivalent problem-solving methodologies. Experience collaborating cross-functionally across organizational levels. Thorough understanding of polymer material rheology and flow simulation. Physical Demands/Working Conditions: Working in a General Factory Environment (~50%). Office Environment with Computer use (~50%). Light lifting (up to 25 lbs). Regular standing and walking. Compensation and Benefits: The typical salary for this position is $96,555 - $125,563 annually, based on your skills and experience. This position also qualifies for our Quarterly Incentive Pay Program.
