Java Microservices Engineer - Spring Boot, AWS

Overview We are excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for a Java Microservices Engineer who specializes in Spring Boot and AWS! Join a leading Streaming and Entertainment company and become a key player in building innovative, high-performance systems. This is a remote contract position with a competitive pay rate of $75 - $80/hr on a W2 basis. Responsibilities Design and implement scalable, high-volume services and RESTful web services following a microservice architecture. Deliver high-quality software on progressive platforms, primarily utilizing AWS, Java, and Spring Boot. Develop one-off applications leveraging AWS, Lambda, and NodeJS. Work with databases including DynamoDB and MySQL. Deploy Java-based applications on AWS EKS Clusters. Collaborate effectively with fellow software engineers and quality assurance teams. Partner with architecture and engineering teams to create superb technology solutions. Engage in Agile/Scrum methodologies. Experience Requirements Hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and services such as Lambda, SQS, SNS, Kinesis, S3, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, API Gateway, and CloudFormation. Proficiency with both NoSQL and relational databases. Experience in handling support requests and troubleshooting effectively. Familiarity with monitoring tools like Splunk and Datadog. Expertise in building low latency, high-throughput transactional services with a focus on continuous integration and automated testing. Strong multitasking and prioritization capabilities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
