Zhone is looking for an experienced Virtual Infrastructure Engineer who has deployed and managed k8s and/or OpenStack and has built DevOps procedures and tools to support an engineering team and as part of a product build and delivery pipeline.

Responsibilities

Deploy and manage various virtual infrastructures to be used by a wide variety of employees.

Troubleshoot and solve technical challenges daily, applying a vision for how solutions will be used by a wide audience.

Learn and adapt to new technologies beyond the latest tools.

Review and triage problem reports, ask clarifying questions, and fully understand the scope before prioritizing fixes.

Collaborate with globally distributed teams in an Agile environment, providing clear updates on progress.

Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code deployments, and system automation initiatives.

Ensure systems are secure, reliable, and monitored effectively.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

Strong fluency in Linux system administration and related network services (e.g. DHCP, DNS, LLDP).

Proficiency with CI tools such as Bamboo, GitLab, or Jenkins.

Strong Python coding skills; familiarity with Shell scripting.

Hands-on experience with at least two virtualization/containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, KVM, OpenStack) and deep expertise in at least one.

Excellent communication skills; able to explain concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

Experience with log aggregation and monitoring tools.

Familiarity with MAAS, Ansible, Juju, or other configuration management tools.

Experience building web services using toolkits like Flask, React, or Django.

Experience with security scanning, license compliance tools, and open-source compliance.

Knowledge of artifact and package management tools (e.g., Artifactory).

Experience with security, license and opensource scanners
