We are looking for a Sr Photonics Engineer focused on collaborating with industry design and foundry partners, and internal stakeholders to establish advanced photonics technology capabilities for next generation optical interconnects. The candidate will support and lead programs devoted to the design, development, and applications of Si photonics technology for photonics interconnects in hyperscale and AI computing. The role requires a strong understanding of photonics principles and knowledge of integrating devices into a PIC, considering system requirements and manufacturability.

Responsibilities

Expert-level understanding of advanced Si photonics technology and devices such as lasers, exploring new optical device innovations.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams to ensure the PIC design is well-considered and validated, integrating with optical, mechanical, and module fabrication processes and hardware circuits.

Introduce new photonics features in custom opto‑electronic hardware.

Perform tests, improve test procedures, and analyze data to enhance device performance and product yield.

Work closely with teams developing lasers, packages, photonics, and electronic circuits to ensure product success.

Collaborate with system architecture teams to define photonics interconnect needs for hyperscale, AI computing, and network switching/routing systems.

Qualifications

PhD in Engineering, Physics, Photonics, or related field.

5–10 years of industry experience in designing or managing optoelectronics component design and development.

At least 3 years of industry experience with Si photonics.

Experience leading the development of Si photonics PIC solutions.

Expertise with photonic design tools such as Lumerical, Tidy3D, COMSOL, RSoft.

Hands‑on experience using Cadence Virtuoso, including tape‑out with Global Foundries, TowerJazz, or other silicon photonics fabs.

Strong knowledge of high‑speed optoelectronics device design.

Knowledge of CMOS semiconductor processes, wafer backend, and package ecosystem.

Knowledge of EDA or EPDA tools for PIC design, simulation, and tape‑out process.

Compensation & Benefits U.S. Salary Range: $161,000.00 – $221,000.00 (plus total cash including bonus and stock award programs).

Full-time position.

Relocation Eligible : Yes.

Travel: Yes, 10% of the time.

Shift: 10‑Day 8‑Hr (United States of America).

Education Doctorate Degree.
