As an Electrical Design Engineer in the Systems Integration Group SIG at Micron Technology, you will define, design, and implement sophisticated test equipment to support semiconductor manufacturing. You will apply electrical circuit theory to design solutions on printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies that implement the test system functions and the interface with devices under test.
Encouraged Daily Responsibilities include all phases of hardware development including requirements capture, component selection, design, schematic entry, simulation, support of PCB/PWB layout, and verification testing. You will work closely with cross-functional teams located around the world including other engineering disciplines, technicians, procurement, planning, field service, and external contract manufacturers to ensure the successful implementation of innovative test solutions.
Pathfinding proposed architectures and circuits
Designing analog, power, and mixed signal electronic systems from concept to final schematic
Identify and select electronic components
Collaborate with PCB engineers to develop layouts
Debug and verify PCB assemblies using lab equipment
Contribute to requirements of specifications, design documents, test plans, and lab reports
Programming/scripting towards design automation and data analysis
Actively participate in design reviews
Document and control designs
Support prototype validation by the customer including deployment, design changes, and issue resolution
Manage engineering changes using version control processes
Support released designs for issues or additional design & development requests
How To Qualify
BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
Proven 3+ years experience designing analog & power electrical circuits
Understanding of DC-DC power conversion and SMPS topologies
Experience with PCB schematic capture and layout tools for EDA such as Siemens Xpedition, Cadence OrCAD, KiCad, or comparable
Solid understanding of electronic circuit simulation tools such as Analog Device LTspice or Cadence PSpice
Experience with lab test equipment operation including DMM, oscilloscope, power supply, and electronic load instruments
What Sets You Apart
Familiarity with digital design including microcontrollers and FPGA devices
Understanding of common communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART/serial, JTAG, and PCIe
Familiarity with PCB layout including power integrity (PI) and signal integrity (SI)
Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages for automation of testing and analysis
The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:
$140,000.00 - $238,000.00
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
