Linux System Admin (GMD Weapon System) with Security Clearance

Linux System Administrator (GMD Weapon System) Full-Time with an ESOP Contractor | Onsite in Huntsville, AL Schedule: 9x80 (Every Other Friday Off) | Position is off-post, not Redstone Arsenal Linux System Administrator for the Ground Missile Defense (GMD) Ground Weapon System (GWS) program. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining smooth operation of multi-user computer systems and coordinating with network administrators. Responsibilities: Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space. They will interact with users and evaluate vendor products as well as make recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinate installation and provide backup recovery. In addition, they will develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. * Administer multi-user Linux systems, ensuring optimal performance and system uptime * Set up and manage administrator/service accounts, configure system-wide software, and allocate mass storage resources * Maintain and update system documentation, implement performance tuning, and coordinate backup and recovery operations * Evaluate vendor hardware/software products and provide recommendations for acquisition * Develop, implement, and monitor IT policies, standards, and procedures related to computing resource usage * Collaborate with network administrators, users, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration and security compliance Qualifications: * U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law * Active Secret Clearance is required * Bachelor's degree in a STEM related field from an accredited institution * Experience with Systems Administration for Linux Operating Systems such as RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) * Must have a DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Ex: Security + CE) * Experience with various scripting using tools such as Python, Perl, Bash, PowerShell, etc. Preferred Qualifications: * Active Linux Certifications (Linux+, RHCSA, RHCE) * Experience with DevOps architecture such as Kubernetes, Nexus, Docker, GitLab, etc. * Experience with security compliance and related security scanning products (ACAS) * Experience in enterprise backup and restore solutions, storage area network (SAN), and network attached storage (NAS) * Experience with network administration and related infrastructure * Experience with hardware installation and maintenance to include firmware upgrades Full-Time position with an employee-owned (ESOP) company, that offers a comprehensive benefits package with excellent medical and dental insurance program, 401(k) plan, employee stock ownership plan (ESOP), life insurance, disability insurance, paid time off, holiday pay, tuition and training reimbursement, and an incentive compensation program.
