Job Title Developer

Location Remote (Washington, DC area)

Start Date August 25, 2025

Duration One year plus annual extensions

Responsibilities

Participate in project planning to determine programming and hardware needs; assist or lead in preparing programming specifications and developing coding logic.

Design, code, test, and debug computer programs independently or as part of a team, using the specified languages.

Adhere to development standards, procedures, and processes; ensure system compatibility; follow data security procedures and identify potential risks.

Maintain contact with team leader, customers, contractors, and vendors to monitor progress and coordinate project stages.

Maintain computer programs and systems; revise and update programs, procedures, documentation as necessary.

Perform other job‑related tasks as assigned or required to support the duties above.

Qualifications / Required Experience

Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in technology or software development.

At least 2+ years of experience with DevSecOps, secure coding practices, and solutions development framework (Docker, Jenkins, GitLab).

Experience designing and developing event/message‑based application services using a message queue (e.g., Apache Kafka).

Experience with automated unit and UI testing tools, preferably test‑driven development.

Experience using source‑code management tools in a CI/CD pipeline DevSecOps environment.

Experience with API‑centric, microservices, serverless or cloud‑friendly application designs.

Knowledge of cloud development with Dataflow, Pub/Sub or Redis.

Knowledge of microservices design, Kubernetes, performance tuning, high observability principles, multi‑threading.

Strong Java skills.

Agile methodologies, SDLC practices, change management, configuration management (VersionOne, ServiceNow) experience.

Application lifecycle management knowledge.

Security & Background Requirements

Must obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Pass client‑mandated clearance, drug screening, criminal history check, and credit check.

Only US citizens or US permanent residents.

Candidate must have lived in the US for the past 5 years.

Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the US in the last five years (military service excluded).

Education A degree from an accredited college/university in the applicable field is preferred. If no degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required.
