Location & Levels
This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA or Gilbert, AZ.
Requisition can be filled as a Level 3 Principal Systems Engineer or a Level 4 Sr. Principal Systems Engineer.
Position is contingent upon capturing program award(s), maintaining customer and/or business funding, and obtaining final clearances and program access within a reasonable period of time.
Continued employment requires maintenance of the required level of clearance and program access.
Job Responsibilities
Perform reliability‑related tasks, including design trade‑offs, reliability failure‑rate/MTBF predictions, de‑rating analysis, allocation of reliability requirements, FMEA, and supporting design reviews.
Use functional block diagrams, reliability block diagrams, and interpret schematics.
Develop technical solutions to potential reliability and availability problems.
Apply probability and statistical tools to solve problems involving non‑standard configurations.
Utilize industry tools for reliability analysis.
Basic Qualifications – Level 3 Principal Systems Engineer
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 5+ years of engineering experience; or
Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3+ years of engineering experience; or
PhD in a STEM discipline and 1+ year(s) of engineering experience.
Experience with reliability failure‑rate/MTBF predictions and FMEA.
Familiarity with modeling, simulation, and software analysis tools used in reliability analysis.
Ability to interpret functional block diagrams, reliability block diagrams, and schematics.
Active DOD Top Secret security clearance (SSBI) completed within the last 5 years and ability to obtain and maintain SCI access.

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 8+ years of engineering experience; or
Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 6+ years of engineering experience; or
PhD in a STEM discipline and 4+ years of engineering experience.
Experience with reliability failure‑rate/MTBF predictions and FMEA.
Familiarity with modeling, simulation, and software analysis tools used in reliability analysis.
Ability to interpret functional block diagrams, reliability block diagrams, and schematics.
Active DOD Top Secret security clearance (SSBI) completed within the last 5 years and ability to obtain and maintain SCI access.
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of satellite subsystem design and general satellite architecture.
Hands‑on reliability analysis and modeling experience for satellite, directed‑energy hardware, and systems.
PM&MP and Electronics Design experience or exposure.
Advanced users of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Active, within scope, current U.S. Government DOD Top Secret clearance and SCI access at time of application and prior to start date.

Salary Range Primary Level: $95,300 – $165,500 Secondary Level: $118,600 – $206,000
