As a Senior Software Architect in Microsoft Capacity Infrastructure Services, you will work with stakeholders to evolve Azure’s data center infrastructure, software, and service stack, focusing on capacity and AI‑related services.

Responsibilities

Partner with stakeholders to determine user requirements for complex scenarios.

Provide technical leadership for identifying dependencies and developing design documents for tools, services, or platforms.

Lead by example and mentor others to produce extensible and maintainable code used across the company.

Leverage subject‑matter expertise to lead multiple product plans, release plans, and work items.

Act as Designated Responsible Individual (DRI), mentoring engineers and handling on‑call duties to monitor system performance.

Proactively seek new knowledge and adopt trends, technical solutions, and patterns that improve availability, reliability, and performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field AND 4+ years of engineering experience, coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.

3+ years of engineering experience with distributed systems and proven problem‑solving and system‑design skills.

3+ years of experience in Computer Architecture or High‑Performance Computing.

Other Requirements

Must meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

8+ years of engineering experience with C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.

Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field with 6+ years of experience in the same languages.

Equivalent experience.

Compensation Base pay range: $119,800 – $234,700 per year (U.S.). Specific location ranges: San Francisco Bay area $158,400 – $258,000; New York City $158,400 – $258,000.
