Senior Fund Accountant We are currently seeking candidates for a Senior Fund Accountant opportunity with a highly successful Private Equity firm located in Boston, MA. The Senior Fund Accountant will play a key role in managing the accounting and financial reporting processes for the firm’s private equity funds. This individual will take ownership of fund‑level financial statements, investor reporting, capital activity, and valuations, while working closely with internal teams and external service providers. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, analytical, and intellectually curious, with a strong understanding of private equity structures and fund operations.

This role is a 12+ month contract‑to‑hire opportunity, paying $45‑$55/hour (depending on experience).

Responsibilities

Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and partnership agreements.

Oversee and reconcile capital calls, distributions, and investor allocations.

Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, including investment valuations, management fees, carried interest, and fund expenses.

Coordinate with fund administrators, auditors, and tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

Review portfolio investment activity, including acquisitions, dispositions, and valuations.

Support internal reporting, performance analytics, and investor requests.

Assist in developing and improving accounting processes and internal controls.

Partner with the investor relations and operations teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems.

Participate in system enhancements and process automation initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.

3–4+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally within private equity, venture capital, hedge fund, or fund administration environments.

Strong understanding of investment partnership structures and U.S. GAAP for investment funds.

Proficiency with Excel and familiarity with fund accounting software (e.g., Investran, eFront, or similar).

Exceptional attention to detail, analytical rigor, and organizational skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a collaborative environment.

Intellectually curious, proactive, and motivated to grow within a high‑performing finance team.
