Job Description KPFF Seattle’s Civil Team designs sites that enable land to be developed for commercial, residential, institutional, and recreational purposes. We also design critical public and private infrastructure systems that support the built and natural environments, including district energy, regional storm drainage facilities, utility grids, and trails. We support projects ranging from feasibility evaluations and master planning to design, permitting, and construction. Our group works in close collaboration with owners, architects, landscape architects, and other engineering disciplines to build a more sustainable, resilient, and thriving community.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the planning, design, permitting, and refinement of land development and infrastructure projects from concept to completion.
Gain hands‑on experience while learning directly from licensed professional engineers.
Apply core engineering principles and advanced mathematical techniques to tackle real‑world challenges.
Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams.
Build expertise in navigating federal, state, and local regulations, while aligning with KPFF’s and our clients’ standards and practices.
Join client meetings and site visits to gain exposure to project development and stakeholder engagement.
Participate in KPFF’s Forefront program, our commitment to mentorship, lifelong learning, and career development.

Minimum Qualifications
ABET‑accredited bachelor's degree in civil (preferred) or environmental engineering.
0–3 years’ experience working under a licensed professional engineer.
Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification, or scheduled date for the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Passionate about providing exceptional client service.
Desired Qualifications
Coursework and/or familiarity with AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
Coursework and/or familiarity with stormwater hydrology modeling.
Physical Demands
Duties are primarily conducted in a standard office setting, requiring prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or computer table.
Occasionally may be required to lift objects weighing up to 15 lbs.
Occasionally visiting project and construction sites may involve walking, standing, kneeling, or navigating uneven terrain.
Traveling to project sites or client meetings, which may involve driving or flying.
Compensation The base salary for this role is competitive and will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, and skills. The expected range for a qualified candidate is
$78,000 - $90,000 annually .
