PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington or compact state eligibility
Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience
Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
Proficient in cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry
Experience with chest tubes, lumbar drains, tracheostomies, and IV medication titration (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, non-DKA insulin, Heparin)
Strong communication and patient education skills
First-time travel nurses are encouraged to apply
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in PCU, ED Hold, and other assigned units
Float between units including MSICU, Med-Surg, Rehab, and more within scope of practice
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; manage chest tubes, lumbar drains, and tracheostomies
Administer and titrate IV medications as required
Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams (techs, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, intensivists)
Assist with patient transport throughout the hospital
Educate patients and families on care plans and health management
Adapt to a fast-paced clinical environment with flexibility and resourcefulness
