About the Role The
Freight Trade Specialist
supports Interra's global operations by managing freight transactions efficiently, cost-effectively, and in full compliance. This role works closely with Commercial, Operations, and carriers to ensure seamless movement of goods, optimize freight spend, and maintain strong partnerships that drive service reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate global freight activity and serve as the main contact for shipment status.
Review trade terms, secure capacity, and evaluate carrier performance.
Resolve freight issues and claims with minimal cost impact.
Partner with internal teams to align delivery timelines and manage exceptions.
Analyze rates, vendor performance, and freight data to identify improvements.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience).
0–2 years in logistics, ocean freight, or import/export operations.
Strong communication and analytical skills; proficiency in Excel (Power BI a plus).
Knowledge of
INCOTERMS , FMC/DOT/NHTSA requirements, and international shipping.
Detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative team player.
