Job Summary The Market President is responsible for the delivery of high-quality clinical care and exceptional patient satisfaction, development and implementation of the market’s strategic plan, and growth that exceeds industry averages. The Market President must mentor, develop, and train Regional Vice Presidents, administrators, and other key personnel. Success metrics include quality improvement, case volume growth, physician recruitment and retention, and achievement of budgeted EBITDA.

Responsibilities and Expectations Quality

Demonstrate an uncommon dedication to delivering the highest quality clinical care and patient satisfaction in keeping with USPI’s mission.

Fully engage with all aspects of USPI’s EDGE™ and utilize reporting to establish quality goals.

Advocate for USPI’s EDGE™ and hold market segments accountable.

Report quality performance data to health system partners.

Respond to USPI’s EDGE™ event reports in a timely manner.

Provide 1st Response calls and follow-up.

Ensure facilities maintain or acquire accreditation within USPI’s recommended guidelines.

Use patient satisfaction surveys for ongoing improvement.

Growth

Develop the annual strategic plan for the market in partnership with health system partners.

Communicate and implement the strategic plan, setting milestones for motivation and accountability.

Oversee Growth and Sales Plans for each facility and for the market.

Assist with projects in the market, supporting new center development or acquisition transitions.

Leadership

Inspire confidence in partners, team, and management through effective communication.

Maintain organizational development and succession planning.

Set clear expectations and hold people accountable; empower team decisions.

Use physician and employee satisfaction surveys to improve.

Operations

Attend facility-level board meetings and health system meetings.

Deploy USPI’s EDGETM fully within the market.

Ensure annual RVP audits of internal controls at applicable facilities.

Lead monthly operations review calls.

Prioritize and coordinate USPI resources for facility goals.

Possess functional and technical knowledge of financial statements and operational reporting.

Financial Performance

Demonstrate superior financial and analytical skills.

Oversee development of the annual market budget.

Achieve or exceed budgeted financial performance each year.

Report key drivers and trends to upper management and health system partners.

Communication

Facilitate communications between health system partners, physicians, and USPI.

Communicate consistently and effectively with all partners.

Attend advisory board, governing board, and partnership meetings as required.

Host market operations meetings.

Build strong relationships with physicians and health care systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Health care background.

Bachelor’s degree in health profession, business administration, public administration, or other suitable field; master’s degree preferred.

Minimum ten years of senior administrative or management experience in the ASC industry.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work with healthcare partners, physicians, employees, patients, and others.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.

Proficient with financial budgeting, reporting, and analysis.

Must reside within the market or be willing to relocate.

Familiarity with the market is required.

Travel

Minimum 60% travel.

Selected candidates must pass a Motor Vehicle Record check.

Vaccination Compliance USPI complies with federal, state, and local mandatory vaccination laws. If required to be vaccinated, proof of full vaccination or suitable exemption must be provided before start date. If vaccinated, regular testing may be required.
