Microsoft 365 Administrator Location (Hybrid): Boston, MA; New York, NY or Washington DC
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Microsoft 365 Administrator with deep expertise in Exchange Online within a hybrid environment and strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 (M365). The ideal candidate will also bring solid networking skills, enabling seamless integration and performance across our enterprise systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Administers and supports Microsoft 365 applications: Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Intune and Purview.
Manages user accounts, provisioning, licenses, and security policies in Microsoft Entra ID, deprovisioning and the M365 Admin Center.
Monitors and troubleshoots M365 services to ensure high availability and performance firmwide.
Configures and enforces internal security policies including MFA, Conditional Access, and compliance settings to ensure proper governance and data protection in‑line with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Manages Microsoft Azure Entra and other security tools to protect against phishing and cyber threats.
Develops and implements governance policies for data retention, compliance, and secure collaboration.
Automates administrative tasks using PowerShell and Microsoft Power Automate.
Troubleshoots, diagnoses and resolves technical issues; provides escalation support for end users and IT colleagues.
Provides end‑user training, and promotes best practices to improve adoption and efficiency.
Monitors and reports system performance, usage, and adoption; generates reports to inform IT leadership.
Stays current with Microsoft 365 roadmap updates and recommends improvements.
Takes on additional responsibilities as needed or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Minimum of 5+ years of work experience in Microsoft 365 administration and services.
Proven experience managing Exchange Online in a hybrid environment in mid to large sized companies.
Proven experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and troubleshooting.
Understanding of compliance and data governance in M365 preferred.
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs).
Experience with Microsoft Entra ID and identity federation (ADFS, SSO).
Strong time management, prioritization, problem‑solving, and organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a high pressure environment.
Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate work flow and project updates.
Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS‑102, AZ‑104, or equivalent) preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Defender for Office 365 and endpoint protection preferred.
Familiarity with KnowBe4 or similar security awareness platforms preferred.
Experience in legal environments preferred.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of matters and other firm business information.
