Position Overview
LHH is seeking an experienced
Contract Trademark Attorney
to support a respected client in handling a variety of
intellectual property (IP)
and
trademark matters . This is a
remote, part-time opportunity
ideal for an attorney who enjoys flexible work and meaningful client engagement while maintaining a balanced schedule.
The Contract Trademark Attorney will provide legal support on trademark and general intellectual property matters, including trademark clearance, prosecution, enforcement, and portfolio management. The ideal candidate has strong analytical and drafting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, professional environment.
Responsibilities
Advise clients on trademark registration, protection, and enforcement strategies.
Conduct and analyze trademark clearance searches and provide risk assessments.
Prepare, file, and manage U.S. trademark applications, renewals, and maintenance filings.
Draft and review cease-and-desist letters, coexistence agreements, and licensing documents.
Support global IP portfolio management, coordinating with international counsel as needed.
Assist with IP due diligence and transactional support.
Maintain organized records of filings, deadlines, and client communications.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and timely completion of IP matters.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (J.D.)
from an accredited law school.
Active bar membership in the State of North Carolina (required).
Minimum of
3–5 years of experience
practicing trademark and intellectual property law.
In-depth knowledge of U.S. trademark law, USPTO procedures, and related IP principles.
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
Comfortable working remotely and leveraging technology for collaboration.
