The Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) team supports private equity sponsors, lenders, and corporations with comprehensive financial, tax, and operational due diligence across Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and corporate actions. Our entrepreneurial model empowers TAS members to lead initiatives early and effectively, delivering significant value throughout the transaction process.
The Director of TAS at Portage Point is a remarkable opportunity to take on diverse responsibilities while making a meaningful impact. You will lead efforts for private equity and corporate clients, enhancing value through strategic transaction diligence and structuring. You will oversee the Atlanta market team, reporting directly to the TAS Practice Line Leader, guiding a wide range of buy-side and sell-side transactions including financial and business due diligence, alongside accounting and financial reporting functions.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with senior personnel and clients to create robust solutions for complex transactional challenges. Lead multiple engagements while cultivating relationships through exemplary execution. Conduct buy-side and sell-side diligence encompassing historical and projected financial trends, quality of earnings analysis, working capital and net debt considerations, cash flow analysis, and risk assessment. Produce clear and compelling reports highlighting critical insights, including normalized earnings, budget achievability, and post-transaction factors. Review transaction agreements, customer, and vendor contracts. Contribute actively to marketing and business development initiatives to showcase TAS's capabilities. Build and maintain a personal network to generate consistent business and enhance practice line revenue. Work closely with the Performance Improvement, Turnaround & Restructuring, and Investment Banking teams. Mentor and coach junior team members to foster their professional growth. Lead or assist in internal training and knowledge-sharing sessions. Manage talent acquisition and contribute to the firm's growth initiatives. Help cultivate a high-performing, inclusive, and values-driven workplace culture. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from a prestigious undergraduate program. Willingness to relocate to key markets including Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, New York, Tampa, Palm Beach, or Phoenix. Committed to a team-based culture with four days in-office and client site presence as required. 15+ years of experience in financial due diligence or a mix of audit and financial due diligence at a Big 4 firm. Certified Public Accountant designation. In-depth knowledge of US GAAP principles. Familiarity with tools like Tableau and Alteryx is preferred. Outstanding client engagement, project management, and leadership capabilities. Proven experience working with private equity firms, corporate clients, and other relevant buyers. Eager to directly impact revenue growth outcomes. Exceptional communication skills and strong executive presence. Ability to thrive in fast-paced, lean team environments. High attention to detail and a proactive ownership mindset. History of success in high-pressure, client-facing roles. Compensation for this role ranges from $800,000 to $1,300,000 annually. Portage Point is required to disclose compensation details for this position in New York and California, and this range represents our good faith estimate based on qualifications. Actual compensation will be determined based on the applicant's qualifications, potentially falling outside this range.
