Electrical Manufacturing Engineer - 2nd Shift

to become a vital member of our National Space Systems Integration & Test team. This role is based in Huntsville, AL. As an Electrical Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing our electrical floor operations, developing automated test scripts, and crafting essential documentation for spaceflight instrument testing in the factory setting. Your collaboration with Planning & Production Control, Engineers, and Operations Leads will be pivotal in ensuring smooth and efficient testing processes. Key Responsibilities: Manage manufacturing orders to ensure compliance with project timelines and schedules. Develop and implement efficient procedures to transform raw materials into high-quality finished products. Utilize MES software (Solumina) to monitor and control manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with quality standards. Generate and maintain Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOMs) to ensure accurate records. Create routings within Solumina to determine accurate production run times. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency. Identify and mitigate risks in production processes to maintain streamlined operations. Plan and maintain production flow utilizing MRP systems, including management of changes and make/buy designations. Oversee Configuration & Data Management processes for tracking and managing changes. Define and document manufacturing processes for assembly, integration, and testing of space projects. Coordinate workflow for multiple projects to meet production goals. Resolve production-related issues, ensuring adherence to schedules and priorities. Monitor job production status and communicate updates to management effectively. Collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Operations teams. Manage ISO9001/AS9100 processes within the department to ensure compliance. Basic Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 2 to 4 years of relevant experience, or a master's degree in electrical engineering with less than 2 years of experience. Ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary engineering environments. Basic experience in manufacturing, assembly, and integration of electrical, electromechanical, and/or mechanical components. Willingness to work second shift hours from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, including a 30-minute lunch break. Training will be conducted on the first shift for several weeks before transitioning to the second shift. Must be available to work other shifts as necessary. Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama area. Candidates must be U.S. Citizens and possess (or be eligible to obtain) a Final Secret Clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with test operations, including set-up and calibration of relevant equipment. Familiarity with manufacturing, assembly, integration, and testing procedures. Hands-on experience with electronics assembly processes such as soldering, mechanical assembly, and automated inspections. Experience in project scheduling and knowledge of Agile methodologies. Familiarity with clean room environments. Experience with Deltek, Costpoint ERP & MRP, Windchill, and Solumina. Understanding of ISO9001/AS9100 processes and procedures.
