Job Summary The Production Planner is responsible for developing and managing production schedules to ensure efficient operations within the manufacturing facility. This role involves coordinating with various departments, optimizing resource allocation, and maintaining inventory levels to meet production goals and customer demands while minimizing downtime and costs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Production Scheduling: Create and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and resource availability.
Coordination: Collaborate with production, procurement, engineering, R&D, and logistics teams to align schedules with material availability and delivery timelines.
Resource Optimization: Monitor and adjust schedules to maximize equipment, labor, and material utilization while minimizing waste.
Inventory Management: Ensure adequate inventory levels to support production without overstocking, coordinating with supply chain teams.
Material Ordering: Ensure a subset of key materials are ordered to meet production schedule.
Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts, delays, or bottlenecks, communicating solutions to relevant stakeholders.
Data Analysis: Analyze production data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve scheduling efficiency and report on performance metrics.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and scheduling accuracy.
Food Safety Responsibilities
Liaise with FSQA to align production with food safety standards
Support traceability and recall processes
Follow FEFO when managing inventory
Consult with FSQA promptly when issues arise, that might impact product safety or quality
Adhere to the JP Supplier Approval Program. Relevant training will be provided.
Follow systemwide GMPs as is expected of all JP personnel
Minimum Qualifications
Proficiency in Scheduling Software: Expertise in ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar tools for creating and managing production schedules.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze production data, identify bottlenecks, and resolve scheduling conflicts efficiently.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to collaborate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to align schedules and ensure smooth operations.
Time Management and Adaptability: Capability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and adjust schedules to accommodate changing priorities or unexpected delays.
Attention to Detail: Precision in developing schedules to ensure resource allocation aligns with production goals and inventory needs.
Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes: Understanding of production workflows, equipment, and resource requirements to create feasible schedules.
Inventory Management Skills: Ability to monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to support production without overstocking.
Basic Data Analysis: Familiarity with interpreting KPIs and production metrics to improve scheduling efficiency.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles (): Understanding of lean concepts to minimize waste and enhance productivity.
Team Collaboration: Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
5+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing operations.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is .
