Pay Rate: $32.00 - $40.00 per hour.

Position: Remote Part-Time Facility Inpatient Coder.

Department: HIM.

Position Summary Under indirect supervision, place accurate ICD‑10‑PCS and CPT codes for inpatient services, procedures, diagnoses and conditions. Maintain compliance with AHA Coding Clinic, CMS, OSHPD, and organizational coding guidelines.

Responsibilities

Maintain a working knowledge of ICD‑10‑PCS and CPT coding principles, governmental regulations, official coding guidelines, and third‑party documentation and billing requirements.

Ensure all services documented in the patient’s chart are coded with appropriate ICD‑10‑PCS and CPT codes. When documentation is incomplete, seek clarification in a timely manner.

Meet average productivity standards.

Review the daily queue, ensure charts placed in the review queue are processed, and communicate corrections to the facility as needed.

Code or pending every chart placed in your queue.

Maintain current professional credentials.

Have experience with OSHPD reporting.

Remote workstation with dual monitors.

Education and Skills

High school diploma or equivalent (required).

One of the following coding credentials: AHIMA (CCS).

Proficiency with facility coding standards.

Minimum of five years’ experience in medical coding.

Working knowledge of ICD‑10‑PCS coding and Correct Coding Initiatives (CCI).

Salary and Benefits Salary Range: $66,000 to $72,000 per year.
