Health Information Management
Shift:
Full‑Time preference; 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (any time zone, business hours Monday‑Friday)
Hours:
Full‑Time, flexible within business hours
Duration:
26 weeks, with possibility of extension
Responsibilities
Accurately code outpatient surgery services, procedures, diagnoses, and conditions using ICD‑10, CPT, PCS, HCPCS, and specialty systems.
Maintain a working knowledge of ICD‑10 and CPT coding principles, regulations, official guidelines, and third‑party requirements regarding documentation and billing.
Ensure all services documented in the patient’s chart are coded with appropriate ICD‑10 and CPT codes, and seek to attain proper documentation when gaps exist.
Maintain average productivity standards.
Work the review queue daily to ensure all charts are worked and any corrections are communicated to the facility.
Code, charge, or pending every chart placed in the queue.
Maintain current professional credentials.
Required Skills & Qualifications Under indirect supervision, perform coding of outpatient surgery services with strict adherence to the American Hospital Association Coding Clinic, CMS, OSHPD, and organizational coding guidelines. Proficiency in ICD‑10, CPT, PCS, HCPCS, and specialty coding systems.
Licenses/Credentials Required:
RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, COC, CIC; AHIMA or AAPC credentials are permitted.
Systems:
3M and EPIC.
Expected Features:
Will be a long‑term project for the right fit.
