Job Description As a Web App/GIS Developer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining geospatial applications that leverage Angular for front-end development and AWS for cloud-based solutions. The ideal candidate will have GIS expertise, proficiency with Angular frameworks, and experience working with AWS services to deliver robust, scalable geospatial applications. You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate complex geospatial requirements into dynamic and user‑friendly web applications.

Responsibilities

Maintain our in‑house web‑based planning tool developed with an Angular front end and AWS cloud infrastructure.

Design, develop, and deploy GIS applications with an Angular front end and AWS cloud infrastructure.

Implement and integrate geospatial data services using various GIS tools and APIs utilizing .NET and Python.

Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to define and execute solutions for geospatial data visualization and analysis.

Optimize application performance, scalability, and usability, focusing on efficient data handling and processing in a cloud environment.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring applications are responsive, high‑quality, and secure.

Write and maintain clean, efficient, and well‑documented code, following best practices in GIS development.

Required Skills

GIS Tools & APIs: Strong knowledge of GIS tools (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS, QGIS) and mapping APIs (e.g., Leaflet, Mapbox).

Front‑End Development: Proficient in Angular, HTML, CSS, and TypeScript.

Backend Development: Solid experience in Python, including Django and FastAPI for REST API development and microservices.

AWS Services: Experience deploying and managing applications on AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS).

Databases: Experience working with databases, such as Oracle, PostgreSQL/PostGIS.

RESTful APIs: Proficient in developing, integrating, and consuming RESTful services.

Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze big data and geospatial data and implement solutions for data visualization and spatial analysis.

Problem‑Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve issues in a cloud‑based environment.

Desired Qualifications (Not Mandatory)

Additional Technical Skills: Familiarity with other front‑end frameworks or libraries (e.g., React, Vue) and data visualization tools.

Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Developer, or Django Certification.

Other Familiarity with CI/CD practices for automated deployment, and asynchronous programming with FastAPI.
