Responsibilities:
Overseeing staff management, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
Managing office operations, including inventory control, financial oversight, and compliance with regulations (e.g., DEA, OSHA)
Providing excellent customer service, addressing pet owners' inquiries, and resolving complaints promptly
Coordinating with veterinary staff to ensure efficient clinic operations and high-quality patient care
Implementing and maintaining hospital policies and procedures
Marketing the hospital to prospective customers and the veterinary community
Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring proper use of veterinary terminology
To be successful as a veterinary practice manager, you should be patient, detail-oriented, and adept at multitasking. An outstanding veterinary practice manager should be able to communicate effectively with pet owners and veterinary staff members, and demonstrate exceptional management, organizational, and customer service skills.
