The Registered Nurse (RN), a member of Advocate Health Nursing Professional Governance community, provides high-quality, patient-centered care through evidence-based practice, clinical expertise, and compassionate care delivery. The RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, advocates for patient needs, and upholds professional practice standards to promote optimal health outcomes.

Residency Program:

New Graduate RNs at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist receive supportive training led by dedicated nurse educators, including clinical orientation with a preceptor, specialty-specific learning, and skill-building in clinical decision-making, teamwork, communication, and career development.

Unit:

Step into a dynamic environment where compassionate care meets clinical excellence. Our Neurology department includes two specialized units that work together to provide exceptional care.

Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU):

6-bed unit serving both pediatric and adult patients. Most admissions are elective and scheduled, allowing for thoughtful, patient-centered care. This unit fosters a collaborative culture built on teamwork, inclusion, and evidence-based practice.

Neurology Unit:

17 beds providing advanced neurological care for stroke patients, general neurology cases, and select neurosurgery overflow. It includes eight dedicated hospitalist beds to ensure comprehensive treatment. You will work closely with providers, therapists, pharmacists, and other multidisciplinary team members to deliver patient-centered, evidence-based care.
