The Hinckley Company manufactures the world-renowned Hinckley, Hunt and Morris Yachts. We also operate 9 service yards along the East Coast for all brands of power and sailing yachts. We are hiring a Finance Manager to work onsite at our corporate headquarters located in Portsmouth, RI.
The ideal candidate must be able to multi‑task, excel in a fast‑paced environment, be focused on accurate and timely reporting, process improvements and operate in a professional and positive manner with third‑party professionals and colleagues.
Responsibilities
Participate in the month‑end close process by preparing journal entries, monthly GL/sub‑ledger balance sheet reconciliations, and preparing monthly analytics
Analyze financial data including variance analysis to budget and forecast, making recommendations based on analysis
Preparation of monthly financial statements and supplementary schedules as provided to management and the Board of Directors
Participate in the preparation of corporate tax workpapers and quarterly tax estimated payments and required member distributions
Work with VP of Finance and Controllers on miscellaneous financial projects
Participate in purchase accounting on new acquisitions
Responsible for new GAAP pronouncements that may impact company and implementation when applicable
Assist with year‑end audit package preparation and work with outside audit team on Financial Statement and 401(k) audits
Work with team on Cashflow forecast
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
BS degree in accounting
CPA not mandatory, but preferred
5-6 years’ public accounting experience
Extensive knowledge of GAAP including new pronouncements
Corporate tax experience
Excellent Excel skills
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Superior analytical and problem‑solving techniques
