Student Monitor
to provide oversight and support for students during lunch, recess, study hall, and detention periods. The position is part of a permanent, replacement staffing plan.
Position Overview GRADE: G1
(Hourly Range: $17.86 – $22.02) – Standard hours 12.50 per week, FTE 0.3125, 9 months per year.
JOB CODE: 080317
– Replacement – Permanent/Regular.
Responsibilities
Monitor large groups of students in lunch, recess, study hall, in‑school and after‑school detention.
Ensure cafeteria order, safety, and cleanliness; assist students with opening/closing containers, lining up, and disposing of trash.
Take attendance in study hall and in‑after‑school suspension/detention.
Assist and support with student behavior management following district guidelines and supervisory guidance.
Communicate behavioral concerns to administration.
Assess playground safety, report concerns, and maintain a safe environment for all students.
Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
No prior experience required; one‑year general student supervision or classroom experience preferred.
Age minimum 18 years.
Valid criminal background check required for hire.
Education & Related Work Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
No experience required.
Preferred: one‑year experience supervising students or working in a classroom environment.
Preferred: experience working with school‑age children.
Minimum age 18 years.
Licenses, Registrations or Certifications
Criminal background check required for hire.
Compensation and Benefits All classified positions are paid on an hourly basis starting at Step 1 of the pay grade, with the potential for advancement up to Step 8. For full salary details, refer to the
Classified Salary Schedule . Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, employee assistance program, voluntary life insurance through PERA, and 401(k), 403(b), & 457(b) plans available immediately upon hire.
