Summary Assist students in Specialized Programs by providing individualized instruction and support. Tasks include academic support, monitoring behaviors, functional life skills, health and hygiene, and transportation assistance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide support in general education setting to enable full participation in class activities.
Assist students in Specialized Programs through tutoring, adapting work, monitoring, enforcing behavior, administering tests or assessments, and aiding homework.
Assist special needs students with daily routines including transport, toileting, feeding, medical needs, and personal hygiene. Support behavior plan implementation using CPI techniques.
Sanitize, disinfect, and clean the learning environment, following all health and safety procedures.
Facilitate speech and language development using alternate communication systems such as sign language or AAC devices.
Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Education and Related Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Willingness to work with students with significant needs (training provided).
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications Required
Criminal background check required.
Ability to complete a pre‑hire, post‑offer physical examination.
CPR and First Aid certifications required within 3 months of hire.
Universal Precautions training required within 3 months of hire.
CPI/Safety Care training certification required within 3 months of hire.
