Key Responsibilities
Review daily requirements with the Sous‑Chef, prepare, delegate duties, and ensure timely production of food items to maintain uninterrupted guest service.
Coordinate with Banquet Managers, Conference Service Managers, and Restaurant Managers; answer telephone inquiries when the Sous‑Chef is unavailable.
Actively train junior staff and apprentices in culinary skills.
Adhere to standardized recipes and specifications to maintain consistency and meet all standards.
Keep work station clean and organized, including fridge/freezers, countertops, and range tops.
Execute station opening and closing procedures to standard.
Minimize overproduction and food waste through proper rotation, labeling, and storage.
Operate all kitchen equipment safely and ensure compliance with food safety guidelines.
Report deficiencies in kitchen equipment and quality of food products timely to the Chef de Partie/Sous‑Chef.
Complete other job‑related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Responsible for day‑to‑day operations of the station.
Qualifications
Ability to work in a high‑pressure environment.
Minimum 3 years cooking experience in at least two different kitchen sections (Gardé Manger, banquets, à la carte, breakfast, etc.).
Valid Food Handler Certificate required.
Experience in a luxury hotel with comparable service and standards is an asset.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a team player.
Diploma or certification in a culinary discipline is an asset.
Must hold valid authorization to work in the USA.
Physical Requirements
Constant standing and walking throughout the shift.
Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs.
Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting.
Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps.
