Position Overview This year‑round position oversees all aspects of golf course and grounds maintenance, managing turfgrass, irrigation, landscaping, equipment, and leading the grounds staff. The Superintendent also oversees snow removal operations during the winter months and works closely with the owner and golf professional to ensure consistent playability, appearance, and safety.
Responsibilities
Plan, direct, and oversee all aspects of golf course maintenance and agronomic programs.
Supervise, train, and schedule grounds crew; promote a positive and safety‑focused work environment.
Develop and manage the annual maintenance and capital budgets.
Maintain greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, and roughs to ensure premium playing conditions.
Oversee and maintain irrigation and drainage systems for efficient and effective operation.
Manage fertilizer and chemical applications, including integrated pest management (IPM) practices.
Collaborate with Golf Operations on course setup, tournaments, and daily play conditions.
Oversee snow removal operations for the clubhouse, parking lots, and grounds during winter months.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and best management practices.
Maintain strong vendor relationships and coordinate with club management on facility projects.
Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Turfgrass Management, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 5–10 years of progressive experience in golf course maintenance, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or assistant superintendent capacity.
Wisconsin Pesticide Applicator’s License (or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment).
Valid driver’s license.
Strong knowledge of cool‑season turfgrass management, irrigation systems, and grounds equipment.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Dedication to maintaining high‑quality course conditions year‑round.
