Position Information We are seeking a compliance officer I who monitors and facilitates compliance program with federal, state, and Texas A&M University System (TAMUS) regulatory and governing standards, including but not limited to laws, regulations, statutes, codes, policies, and directives, as well as compliance with AgriLife rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with the Ethics and Compliance Lead Investigator to conduct complaint investigations regarding fraud, waste, and abuse.

Management Review Team: serves as a member of the team traveling to Research and Extension centers. Review UAS, fleet, inventory, and conducts physical security assessments.

Monitors the Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Program, including ensuring applications and flight scheduled are complete and filed as required. Facilitates approval process by coordinating with SME’s.

Monitors the Programs for Minors/Minors in Labs compliance program and the tasks/responsibilities associated with the AgriLife and Coals.

CPM Liaison position. Duties include but are not limited to coordinating training, collaboration with University Youth Programs (UYP), review of program applications, and ensuring all documents for programs are on file prior to the start date and retained in accordance with TAMU rules and agency procedures.

Monitors the Financial Conflict of Interest compliance program in management, reduction, and/or elimination of financial conflicts of interest in research and tasks generated through Huron.

Assists in developing, establishing, and maintaining an effective and broad-based compliance program based upon ethical conduct and a commitment to compliance with all applicable laws, policies, rules, and procedures.

Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and develops a plan of action to bring any non-compliant areas into compliance.

Responds to apparent violations of policies, procedures, or other regulatory standards by recommending and participating in investigative procedures.

Assists with developing and accessing compliance programs. Interprets departmental policies, rules, regulations, and ensures they are followed.

Assists AgriLife Administrative Services in the implementation and update of System and AgriLife polices, rules and procedures.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Four years of related experience in administration, program management, risk and compliance, or a related field.

Required Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Will be trained annually by UYP regarding programs for minors regulations.

Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.

Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to travel 5-10% of the fiscal year.

Investigation and report writing experience (higher education, regulatory agency, compliance officer, law enforcement, or similar field).

Preferred Qualifications

TAMUS structure, Maestro, FAMIS, CircuiTree, AggieBuy, Concur, etc.

Knowledge of Visual Compliance and Dimensions software platforms.

Salary Compensation for this position is commensurate based on the selected candidate’s qualifications.
