Assistant Store Manager of Sales

This position is based in Houston, TX and offers a base pay range of $74,250.00 to $82,500.00 per year, with additional quarterly bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.
Brief Overview Perigold, the destination for luxury home, is opening its first physical retail stores—20‑30K square foot destinations featuring furniture, decor, housewares, and home improvement categories. This role leads the in‑store sales functions, managing a team of Designers and Product Specialists while collaborating closely with the Store Guest Experience Lead and reporting directly to the Store Manager.
What you’ll do
Oversee all in‑store sales operations, including supervision of Zone Leads and the Designer team, adherence to sales floor presentation standards, and in‑stock replenishment needs.
Work with the Store Manager to establish sales team goals in alignment with overall business sales targets and guest experience standards.
Attract, hire, coach, and retain top‑performing talent.
Develop and execute training curricula in partnership with corporate field enablement and supplier teams to drive results aligned with sales targets and guest experience goals.
Analyze sales metrics via reporting tools regularly, sharing insights with the Store Manager and translating findings into training and process improvements.
Communicate regularly with the sales team about store performance to deliver an exceptional luxury experience and achieve sales goals.
Foster a culture of collaboration across Product Specialists and Designers to ensure guests receive the appropriate level of support for their shopping needs.
Work closely with the Regional Design Manager to support guests across channels and optimize Designer utilization.
Partner with the Store Manager and other store leads—including Logistics and Guest Experience—to align with broader business requirements and expectations.
Perform keyholder and Manager On Duty duties as required.
What you’ll need
3+ years of management experience overseeing a successful sales team.
Demonstrated ability to set and maintain a high bar for luxury design.
Experience thriving in a fast‑paced, startup environment, ready to explore innovative ideas and pursue continuous improvement.
A client‑centric mindset.
Strong business acumen and exceptional analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills related to managing a sales funnel.
Flexibility in availability, including mornings, nights, weekends, and some holidays.
Knowledge and experience in luxury home or hospitality is a plus.
Physical requirements
Frequently required to stand, walk, talk, and hear; handle or reach with hands and arms; occasionally sit; regularly climb or balance; frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Regularly, frequently, or occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Compensation & benefits
Compensation ranges from $74,250 to $82,500, with a 10% quarterly bonus based on performance.
