Position Part‑Time Physical Therapist – 16 hours per week.
Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist /Occupational Therapist /Speech Language Pathologist to provide care for patients with facial paralysis. This role works closely with physicians and advanced practice providers in Otolaryngology (ENT) and Facial Plastic Surgery. The position includes hands‑on training for 6‑12 weeks, followed by adjusted day shifts to accommodate the provider’s own patients.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment for patients with facial paralysis.
Collaborate closely with MDs and APPs to coordinate individualized care plans.
Participate in case discussions and multidisciplinary team meetings.
Contribute to ongoing learning and development within this highly specialized area of rehabilitation.
Qualifications
Licensed Therapist (PT) in Massachusetts.
Strong interest in or prior experience with neuromuscular rehabilitation.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills.
Willingness to learn and develop expertise in facial rehabilitation techniques.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy required; Master’s or Doctor of Physical Therapy preferred.
Job Summary Assist patients in reaching maximum physical performance while adjusting to disabilities. Restore patient physical functioning by interpreting PT evaluations and test results, determining goals and plans, administering manual exercises, and instructing patients in physical activities and assistive devices. Requires graduation from an accredited PT program; from 2016 onward, a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) is required.
Essential Functions
Completes billing sheet accurately by end of day.
Evaluates effects of treatment at various stages and adjusts treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
Performs patient assessment and establishes a plan of care.
Provides in‑service education programs for nursing personnel as needed.
Identifies and documents goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation. Discusses evaluation, goals and treatment with patient and family.
Participates in hospital‑wide quality process improvement.
Supervises PTAs according to organization policy and state regulations.
