Position Overview
Pediatric Cardiology Physician Scientist – Assistant Professor in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology, Department of Pediatrics, Stanford University. The candidate will be appointed on the University Tenure Line or University Medical Line, depending on qualifications and experience.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high‑quality clinical care in pediatric cardiology, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow‑up of congenital cardiovascular diseases.
Teach and mentor residents, fellows, and medical students in clinical cardiology and related research.
Develop and conduct laboratory‑based or patient‑based research that advances the understanding and treatment of congenital heart disease in children.
Establish an independent research program with a strong record of peer‑reviewed publications, grant activity, and scientific impact.
Participate in institutional service activities that support the programmatic needs of the Division and the Department.
Qualifications
MD or MD/PhD (or equivalent) with board‑eligible or board‑certified status in Pediatric Cardiology.
Completed fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology and experience in pediatric cardiovascular research.
Outstanding laboratory‑based and/or patient‑based investigative experience with a demonstrated record of research productivity.
Experience and potential for outstanding mentorship and teaching.
Preference for candidates with extramural, peer‑reviewed national research funding.
Commitment to scientific rigor, ethical conduct, and fostering an open and respectful academic environment.
