Position Overview
Under the direction of the Director of Annual Giving & Marketing, the Donor Database Specialist oversees and ensures the integrity of The Cabbage Patch’s donor database, including data analysis and reporting; drives the successful execution of gift processing and stewardship tasks; and provides departmental support through a combination of ongoing and special projects. The Donor Database Specialist works quickly and accurately to provide donors with a high-quality giving experience.
The ideal candidate understands the power of gratitude and champions the importance of healthy data and operations. They are a self-motivated, detail-oriented team player with strong analytical and data management skills.

(Monday - Friday) 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Salary Range:
$48,000-$55,000 per year
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and update donor records, gift entry, and ensure database integrity through ongoing data cleanup and accuracy.
Generate timely donor acknowledgement letters, mailing lists, receipts and tax documentation for donations.
Produce regular reports and dashboards on giving trends, donor retention, new vs returning donors, etc.
Coordinate and execute Annual Campaign mailings, including personalized donor cards and other related materials.
Segment donor files for appeals, campaigns and events.
Design and prepare reports to support the finance, development, and accounting functions, including reconciliation between the general ledger and donor database, annual audit requests, budgeting and forecasting.
Ensure compliance with data privacy, donor confidentiality and nonprofit best practices.
Attend training sessions with Blackbaud to stay updated with the latest fundraising trends and technologies i.e. Raiser’s Edge and NXT.
Review obituaries to identify potential donor connections or memorial opportunities.
Interface with Blackbaud representatives at the discretion of the Director of Annual Giving and Marketing.
Proactively manage Development and Marketing Department’s office supply inventory, ensuring consistent availability of materials necessary for the development department’s projects and daily operations.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Commitment to The Cabbage Patch’s mission and a passion for youth development.
Associate’s degree or higher in business, nonprofit management, information systems, or a related field; equivalent work experience considered.
Professional experience in a data management or fundraising role, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
Proficiency in fundraising software and CRM systems, ideally Raiser’s Edge.
Familiarity with nonprofit operations, donor relations, and fundraising best practices.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and engage respectfully with diverse stakeholders.
Proven integrity and professionalism, upholding the highest ethical standards while demonstrating empathy and donor-centered sensitivity.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
