The base salary for this position is dependent upon experience and location.
Location: Orange, CT - (In office role, 5 days per week)
Salary range: $103,939.00 to $129,924.00
Job Summary
The Senior Systems Administrator position provides proactive Windows System Administration supporting enterprise IT environments. This role requires deep expertise in Windows Server administration, virtualization, hypervisor‑level networking, Active Directory, and Failover Clustering. It also requires prior experience integrating SAN/NAS storage into virtual environments, working with SCCM, participating in Disaster Recovery (DR) drills, and leading infrastructure projects. The Senior Systems Administrator reports into Senior Manager – IT Infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Administers, maintains, and troubleshoots Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022).
Configures and manages Hyper‑V and Nutanix virtualization platforms.
Designs and maintains virtual networking within hypervisors (VLANs, virtual switches).
Integrates SAN/NAS storage into virtual environments in collaboration with the Storage Team.
Configures and maintains Windows Failover Clusters for high availability and resilience.
Manages Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP services.
Utilizes SCCM for software deployment, patching, and asset management.
Participates in and leads Disaster Recovery drills, ensuring readiness and documentation.
Leads infrastructure‑related projects, including planning, execution, and cross‑team coordination.
Collaborates with vendors for hardware/software procurement, support, and implementation.
Works with ServiceNOW for incident, change, and request management; maintains accurate CMDB records.
Provides Tier 2/3 support and participates in on‑call rotation.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Relevant experience includes experience as a Windows System Administrator in enterprise environments.
Strong understanding of virtual networking within hypervisors.
Hands‑on experience with Hyper‑V, Nutanix, and Windows Failover Clustering.
Solid knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and domain services.
Experience integrating SAN/NAS storage into virtual environments.
Proficiency with SCCM for endpoint and patch management.
Demonstrated experience with Disaster Recovery drills.
Proven ability to lead projects and work effectively with vendors.
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Qualifications
Familiarity with ServiceNOW and CMDB practices.
Exposure to Azure and AWS cloud platforms.
Certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, CompTIA Network+, Azure Administrator Associate, or AWS Solutions Architect.
Prior experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
Exposure to cloud migration and hybrid infrastructure strategies.
