Senior GL Accountant
The Senior GL Accountant prepares multiple general ledger reconciliations including: cash, bank, fixed assets, accruals, and liabilities. Requires working knowledge and experience with accounting principles, Excel, and accounting software systems.
Key Responsibilities
Prepares and records daily journal entries, verifying that all transactions are properly entered into the G/L.
Prepares monthly journal entries including prepaids, inventory, fixed assets, intangibles, insurance, accrued liabilities/expenses, depreciation/amortization and monthly allocations.
Assists with the month‑end G/L closing and preparation of monthly financial statements.
Processes property tax, license, CAM/rent accruals and monitors payment deadlines for timely processing.
Maintains a general awareness of all G/L activities, protects financial assets, and keeps supervisor informed of any concerns.
Supervises and maintains the integrity of the GL by performing analyses and resolving irregularities.
Maintains thorough knowledge and understanding of the accounting system.
Ensures a high level of guest service and satisfaction for financial aspects with operators.
Held accountable, to a very high degree, for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
Education/Experience High School Diploma or equivalent. College Degree in Accounting preferred. Three to six years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior general ledger experience required. Casino/Hotel accounting experience preferred.
Licenses, Certifications or Registrations Many positions will require a state gaming license.
