Paid Time off
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
Serve as the main point of contact for multiple clients across diverse industries (closely held businesses, nonprofits, professional services, etc.).
Oversee planning, fieldwork, and completion of audit, review, and compilation engagements.
Communicate audit findings and recommendations directly to clients and firm leadership.
Ensure client satisfaction while managing timelines and budgets efficiently.
Engagement Management & Review
Lead engagement teams through the full audit cycle — from risk assessment and planning to final report delivery.
Review workpapers, financial statements, and disclosures to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and professional standards.
Identify technical accounting and audit issues; provide practical, value-added solutions.
Maintain awareness of new accounting pronouncements and professional standards (GAAS, SSARS, etc.).
Supervise, train, and mentor staff and seniors; review their work for technical accuracy and professional presentation.
Provide timely feedback and participate in formal evaluations.
Contribute to recruiting, onboarding, and firm training initiatives.
Practice Development
Participate in business development by identifying opportunities for additional client services.
Assist in proposals and presentations for new engagements.
Support firm leadership with internal process improvements and quality control initiatives.
Core Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (Master’s in Accounting preferred).
Certification:
CPA required (or active CPA track).
Experience:
5–8+ years in public accounting with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or manager role.
Technical Skills:
Strong working knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and financial reporting frameworks.
Proficiency with audit and accounting software (e.g., CCH Engagement, CaseWare, ProSystem fx, or similar).
Solid Excel and general Microsoft Office skills.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
Strong project management and multitasking ability.
Desire to work hands‑on in a collaborative, smaller‑firm environment where you wear multiple hats.
Exposure to tax preparation/review is an a plus, since smaller firms value cross‑functional capability.
Experience with non‑profit, manufacturing, or professional service clients may be advantageous depending on the firm’s niche.
Comfort with paperless audit environments and willingness to embrace technology.
