Digital Communications Manager - Non-Merit This position is open to qualified applicants. The posting may close at any time; applicants are advised to apply promptly.

Regular Schedule: 34 hours per week.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement digital media strategies, including social media content creation and posting.

Monitor engagement on social media platforms and manage a regular e‑newsletter.

Produce graphic, video, and other multimedia content to communicate with county residents.

Attend off‑site events to create real‑time social content and provide livestream support.

Track breaking news on social media and respond accordingly.

Monitor social media trends, emerging platforms, and best practices.

Collaborate with communications office staff to share messages.

Maintain awareness of county government news, initiatives, events, and administrative priorities.

Identify opportunities to use digital media to publicize initiatives.

Develop digital media metrics and track analytics.

Support county departmental staff on best practices for Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms.

Compile daily news clips and disseminate to executive staff.

Assist with media relations, speechwriting, research, and public engagement as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field.

2–4 years of relevant experience, including social media management.

In‑depth knowledge of social media management systems.

Experience shooting, editing, and posting photography and video content.

Adept in graphic design, layout, and typography.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong editing skills and concise writing ability.

Detail‑oriented, technologically savvy, highly motivated, and well organized.

Ability to work in a team‑based environment and independently.

Proof of Licenses, Certifications & Education Applicants must submit proof of licenses, certifications, and education beyond high school that meet the required qualifications. Diplomas or transcripts must show the major field of study. Copies and unofficial transcripts are acceptable.

Applicants who obtained a degree outside the United States must submit degree equivalency documentation from World Education Services (WES).
