Fire and Life Safety Inspector
to conduct inspections and provide guidance across a range of fire protection systems.
The role involves working on Fire Alarm Systems, Fire Sprinkler Systems, Fire Pumps, Backflows, Fire Extinguishers, Kitchen Hood Fire Suppression Systems, Total Flood Fire Suppression Systems, and more. Candidates will mentor junior technicians and ensure all work is performed safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Annual, quarterly, and 5‑year inspections and testing of fire protection systems.
Installation and service of all fire and life safety equipment systems, including new installations, retrofits, and tenant improvement projects.
Provide support, guidance, and expertise to other field installers and helpers.
Clear and concise communication with team members and customers about systems and deficiencies.
Thoroughly and accurately complete inspection reports, ensuring detailed documentation with supporting photographs.
Manage time effectively.
Train and mentor less experienced team members.
Requirements
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in inspection and installation of fire systems.
Proficient knowledge of wet, dry, and pre‑action fire sprinkler systems.
Familiarity with antifreeze systems, backflow prevention, and fire pump systems is a plus.
Experience with installation of underground piping is advantageous.
In‑depth understanding of NFPA 13 and 20 code requirements.
Ability to read and interpret fire system design drawings.
Solid knowledge of the fire protection industry.
Understanding of OSHA safety standards.
Location: Houston, TX
Salary: $97,300.00 – $125,544.00
