$80,000/85,000 year Position Overview

The

Catering Sales Manager

is responsible for

driving catering and event sales , building strong client relationships, and ensuring exceptional event execution. This individual plays a pivotal role in developing new business, coordinating event logistics, and maintaining the highest level of guest satisfaction. This is a fast-paced, client-facing position requiring strong sales skills, creativity, organization, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Job Duties

Maintain or exceed budgeted booking goals and revenue in all special event areas.

Actively sell to a variety of market segments and build long-term client relationships.

Prospect, develop, and secure new event business through networking, sales calls, and community engagement.

Conduct site inspections and client presentations, showcasing the venue's capabilities and offerings.

Utilize strong closing and negotiation skills to secure contracts and achieve revenue goals.

Participate in trade shows, industry events, and sales blitzes to drive brand visibility.

Collaborate with the culinary and banquet departments to ensure flawless event execution.

Provide complete and detailed

Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)

and event diagrams to support operations.

Employ creativity to develop customized menus, unique event setups, and innovative presentations.

Maintain accurate records, and activity logs in

Delphi, Salesforce, with strong computer skills .

Quickly evaluate alternatives and make sound decisions under pressure.

Actively participate in community and civic activities to enhance awareness and create booking opportunities.

Education & Experience

Minimum

3+ years of catering or event sales

experience in a high-volume, upscale restaurant, hotel, or venue required.

Experience at a similar-sized property and comparable sales volume preferred.

High School Diploma required

Advanced knowledge of venue features, benefits, and competitive landscape within the market.

Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales goals and maintaining repeat business.

Required Skills

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Proficiency in

Delphi ,

Salesforce , Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Strong prospecting, closing, and negotiation abilities.

Creative event planning and problem-solving mindset.

Ability to adapt communication style for different audiences and maintain professionalism.

Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event needs.

Strong background in hospitality and event management with a passion for exceptional guest experiences.
