Job Summary Central Washington University is recruiting an Assistant Professor of Information Technology Management to join our Information Technology Management team in Ellensburg, Washington. This campus‑based position enhances the university’s vision for student success.

The Role The Department of Information Technology Management (ITM) invites applications for a tenure‑track Assistant Professor in IT sustainability and data analytics, including sustainable decision making, professional communications, and data analysis.

Cutting‑edge curriculum that integrates the latest industry knowledge and practical skills.

Data‑driven decision‑making through AI and other tools to enhance managerial outcomes.

A blend of technical IT and strategic management skills to prepare students for leadership roles.

Future‑ready graduates equipped for the evolving tech landscape.

Tenure‑track faculty are expected to engage in teaching, advising, research and service. Instruction occurs in multiple locations across Washington and via in‑person, online, and competency‑based modalities.

Minimum Qualifications

PhD or related terminal degree (ABD candidates may be considered; terminal degree must be completed within one year of start date).

At least five years of industry experience in IT sustainability, data analytics, and/or information technology.

Research, teaching, or service evidence that supports CWU’s vision, mission and values.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional certification.

University‑level teaching experience.

Experience or interest in developing and teaching online, hybrid, and competency‑based courses.

Experience in curriculum development and improvement.

Experience teaching graduate courses in IT sustainability or related disciplines.

Demonstrated service to students and/or the IT management profession.

Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students and staff.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Participation in programs designed to promote student success.

Commitment to improving access to higher education.

Annual Salary $76,000 – $86,000, based on a full‑time nine‑month appointment.

Appointment Full‑time, tenure‑track, nine‑month appointment. Additional summer teaching may be available. CWU operates on a quarter system (mid‑September to mid‑June).
