We're seeking a highly skilled and passionate HVAC Technical Trainer to lead the development and delivery of training programs for our service technicians and installers. This individual will be responsible for creating a structured curriculum that supports both new hire onboarding—particularly for entry‑level or "green" technicians—and ongoing technical development. The ideal candidate will ensure our teams are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and certifications needed to perform high‑quality HVAC installations, maintenance, and repairs safely and efficiently, all while upholding Deljo's commitment to technical excellence and exceptional customer service in the field.

Job Title:

HVAC Trainer

Pay Scale:

$85k-$100k

Work Hours:

Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm

Responsibilities

Design and deliver engaging training programs for HVAC systems, including installation, diagnostics, repair, and maintenance.

Facilitate onboarding training for new technicians and continuing education for existing staff.

Conduct hands‑on training sessions in classroom, lab, and field environments.

Evaluate technician performance and provide coaching and feedback to support skill development.

Monitor performance of field technicians/installers and advise them on how to improve.

Conduct ride‑alongs with service technicians/installers and debrief with them afterward.

Continue to build out training facility.

Create a long‑term vision for the training department.

Implement established curriculum and lesson plans in an organized and concise manner.

Setup, manage, and track current HVAC training center furnishings, equipment, and supplies.

Ensure compliance with training center policies and procedures including student safety.

Evaluate performance and maintain accurate and timely records of attendance, performance scores, and progress.

Demonstrate HVAC expertise in our fully equipped training center.

Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve training content.

Support the rollout of new tools, equipment, and procedures through structured training initiatives.

Maintain a positive and focused learning environment.

Occasional evening classes for extension training.

Qualifications

2+ years of combined field and/or teaching experience.

10+ years of experience in the residential HVAC field within the last five (5) years.

A high degree of knowledge and expertise in all phases of residential HVAC including installation and service.

Strong understanding of HVAC tools, equipment, and safety.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills, and project management skills.

Valid driver's license.

Experience as a technical trainer or instructor.

EPA 608 Certification.

OSHA 10/30 Certification.

Experience with plumbing systems is a plus.

Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional design.
