Digna is proud to present this exceptional opportunity with a high-growth real estate investment and lending platform seeking to appoint a Chief Investment Officer (CIO) to lead investment strategy, portfolio management, and capital deployment across its national credit business.
The Role As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CIO will oversee the platform’s lending and investment activities, balancing disciplined credit execution with creative capital markets strategy.
This individual will play a central role in defining where and how the firm deploys capital — spanning
bridge, construction, permanent, mezzanine, and structured lending products , as well as
opportunistic and special‑situations investments
across
multifamily, build‑to‑rent, industrial, hospitality, and alternative asset classes .
Working closely with Origination, Credit, and Capital Markets leaders, the CIO will ensure the firm continues to scale responsibly while delivering strong, risk-adjusted returns for investors and partners.
Key Responsibilities
Set and execute the firm’s investment and capital deployment strategy across all real estate credit products;
Provide oversight of credit underwriting standards, risk frameworks, and portfolio performance;
Partner with Capital Markets and Treasury teams on funding, hedging, and liquidity management;
Evaluate, structure, and approve complex lending, structured finance, and co-investment transactions;
Drive product innovation and explore new verticals or geographies to expand the platform’s reach;
Serve as a visible ambassador to institutional investors, capital partners, and regulators;
Mentor and develop senior leaders across Origination, Credit, and Asset Management teams.
Candidate Profile
15+ years of experience in real estate credit, structured finance, or private lending;
Demonstrated leadership in scaling and managing multi-billion-dollar lending or investment portfolios;
Deep technical understanding of credit risk, capital markets, securitization, and asset‑liability management;
Proven ability to drive strategic growth, manage high-performing teams, and engage institutional investors;
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate in a fast-moving, high-accountability environment;
Exceptional judgement, communication, and executive presence.
Compensation Highly competitive package including base salary, performance‑linked bonus, and long‑term equity participation reflective of platform growth and value creation.
