Match Charter Public School is a free, high‑performing charter public school in Boston serving 1,250 students PreK‑12. MAT Program Overview The Match Associate Teacher (MAT) Program launches aspiring educators into teaching careers, especially those sharing key identity intersections with our students. The program runs one academic year (August 1 – July 31), with the possibility of a second‑year extension for MATs who demonstrate strong potential for continued growth.

Associate Teacher Year 1: Base $52,500

Associate Teacher Year 2: $55,650

Lead Teacher Year 1: $67,403 (Base $64,903 + $2,500 retention bonus)

Lead Teacher Year 2: $72,554

Licensure & Certification The program supports provisional licensure in Massachusetts by:

Guiding completion of certification requirements

Embedding Moderate Disabilities licensure coursework

Requiring SEI endorsement via a DESE‑approved course

MAT Experience

Placements at grade‑level (K‑5), subject‑level (6‑12), or Special Education teams at one of our three campuses.

Full‑day classroom time with host teachers for observation, assistance, and progressive teaching responsibilities.

Comprehensive wrap‑around training and cohort‑specific professional development.

Mentor teachers and school leaders provide frequent personalized feedback.

Successful completion leads to high prioritization for open positions in the following school year.

Option to teach Summer Academy for further experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

Serve as a teaching assistant in the classroom.

Observe and provide in‑class support to host teachers.

Actively receive and implement coaching from Match staff.

Teach in a host teacher’s classroom with gradual increase in responsibilities as the year progresses.

Support host teachers with grading, material development, family communication, and related tasks.

Qualifications

Priority Round One

October 27 – November 21: Application review & phone screen.

Initial interview with Director of New Teacher Development.

December 1 – January 9: Campus‑based interviews.

Week of January 12: Decision messaging.

Priority Round Two

January 12 – February 6: Application review & phone screen.

Initial interview with Director of New Teacher Development.

February 9‑13 & February 23 – March 13: Campus‑based interviews.

Week of March 16: Decision messaging.

Priority Round Three

March 23 – April 17: Application review & phone screen.

Initial interview with Director of New Teacher Development.

April 27 – May 22: Campus‑based interviews.

Week of May 25: Decision messaging.

*Hiring continues on a rolling basis after round three if cohort spots remain available.
