Defense Quality Technician - Final Inspection

The Quality Technician Final Inspection role conducts detailed visual and dimensional checks on finished products to ensure they meet quality, safety and customer specifications.
Key Accountabilities:
Interpret Manufacturing drawings, all other formatted drawings & sketches, diagrams, or formulas and confers with management, manufacturing or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards. Select products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, tolerances, performance and mechanical characteristics. Accurately record all inspection results, non-conformances, and data in company databases and reports, maintaining detailed records for quality assurance. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify the root causes of quality issues and recommend corrective or preventative actions. Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability. Set up and perform destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to drawing & specification requirements. Analyzes results to applicable acceptance criteria. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing data to identify quality trends and suggesting potential process enhancements. Participates in the implementation and utilization of the CIRCOR Operating System Oversees the Inspection process & handles all hardware related actions for the Manager. Addresses issues, questions & concerns for related matters. Trains other inspection and manufacturing personnel in the use of automated inspection tools. Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Experience :
Associate's degree (A. A.) from two-year College or technical school; with one to three years related experience. Proficient in using stationary & portable CMM equipment to include writing inspection routines & programs for the equipment. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before employees and leadership of the organization. Assist Quality Coordinator in preparation for inspection process. Ability to analyze data, identify root causes of issues, and recommend solutions. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
